Wow! We had so many truly bizarre entries to the last phase of the photo contest. From ghosts to goats, menacing llamas to manikins, it is amazing what our members come across in the field. On the top of our list was Barbie hanging from the ceiling, the medical van with the unfortunate paint job, rooftop wetlands and the strange bathroom decorating choices...
After much debate among the team, we came to the agreement that the most bizarre had to be the moss covered floors at the psychiatric hospital. Talk about creepy...and amazing that this could actually happen! Congratulations to djkski for posting the third winner!

Now, it is all up to the members to chose the winner! A poll is now on the homepage of commonground. Every member gets 1 vote and you must log in to place your vote.
To our winners: make sure you mobilize your colleagues to log in and vote! The iPad is on the line! GOOD LUCK!
This pic was taken during soil sampling activities at this particular site. Picture this...you are going about your work and collecting samples. All is going well until you hear multiple explosions very close by. You look around and this is what you see! I'm not kidding on the spontaneous combustion thing! There were several of these random fires during the course of this project.

The photo was taken at a historic cement plant that operated for numerous years before becoming idle for the last 15 to 20 years. It is in a bad part of town with evidence of vagrancy. There were several notable pieces of art at the facility which would typically be seen at such a location. However, this photo is very clever in placement and bizarre in the content based on the environment. Someone must have felt some warmth in their heart!!!
So the caller wanted to know how to determine the possibility of an UST at an old residence if it wasnt registered with the State. When questioned further - his reasoning was based on a fuel dispenser located still in place up against the house. This is a picture taken.
