For those of you keeping track, we funded our first full project already and we will have several more completed once we account for cgU revenue last month!
We funded the purchase of new headphones for a school library in Binghamton, NY!
Here is what the teacher had to say:
Thank you so much for your generous donation. We are so happy to be receiving the headphones! Your gift has given us the freedom to use the laptops that we were so lucky to receive last year, but could not use effectively. Can you imagine 24 students sitting at 4 tables, all trying to listen to a different audio book at the same time? It was cacophony! Now we can use interactive websites, listen to authors read their books, and share podcasts in the Library, thanks to your donation!
You have helped us use our resources more effectively, and to teach more creatively. Thanks to you, our students can become 21st Century learners in the Library. I am sure that the students will thank you every time they use the headphones.
This is commonground's first venture into supporting a charity. What do you think? Are there other groups you think we should target in the future? How can we make our fundraising efforts more successful?
Whether it is through volunteerism, mentoring or donating money, giving back to the communities are passionate about isn't just good for the impacted groups, but also the soul! How do you give back?
