Groups are used to organize both people, and content, around a specific purpose or topic. Groups contain one or more Members, and generally are comprised of one or more types of content.  For example, the commonground community offers a professional Group for Environmental Lawyers. Within this Group there are content areas for a blog, discussion forum, and announcements.

You can think of this as a type of gathering place for lawyers within the overall commonground community.  Some groups are open to the public and others are private.
