Title:
commonground Discussion Thread - QA and User Experience thread
Content:
Please post questions about issues, bugs, wishes, answers, comments in this thread. That way we can all see the suggestions, know what each other might be noticing, and respond appropriately.
Yo! Just tested the "Invite someone to commonground" functionality and it appears to work great. The ability to add people to the new members network upon joining is very cool.
Also, don't worry - - I won't post every time I test something that works. I just wanted to post so you know I'm checking things out and to test posting.
I understand the need to seperate out some of the content, but can it be more subtle? Also, I don't think we need it in the body of the pages, just some side bars.
Obviously not a big issue, but thought I'd mention.
A bug and a comment: I think the profile information that shows when you hover the mouse over a thumbnail image needs to be more compact. There is quite a lot of white space between sections and most profiles will show both vertical and horizontal scroll bars.
Also, on certain pages this same text appears outside of the box that pops up. See Mark Wallace's image on the home page.
Just a quick update on a couple of things that we wanted to share with you:
1) many of you have been with us for over a year now - we are working on bringing over your original join date. Should be fixed shortly.
2) The discussion threads view numbers are not reflected correctly. Many have over a thousand views. We are working to see if we can reflect that on the new site. Stay tuned, but don't worry, the comments are all there.
3) If you are an affiliate partner and have links on your site to a specific page on the old community, that page is now being redirected to a friendly landing page. Please modify that link to reflect the appropriate new page on our new community.
4) Non-US Due Diligence discussion thread is now called International Due Diligence (thanks Ed Greene for the suggestion).
Yes, we are aware that in the discussion section, the thread is temporarily hidden when you open it up. We are working on updating the last activity date to sync it with the previous community. That is why and we are trying to adjust both at the same time. Thanks.
I posted this elsewhere, but I cannot get the Remember Me function to work on the Sign On page. It worked before the changeover and I have not changed setting on my computer since then (that I am aware of anyway)...
We have added a number of great features including front page access to breaking news, a Twitter feed with real-time access to news, and some newly redesigned pages.
Thanks to all for their feedback as we continuously make adjustments to commonground to build a better experience for our members.
just a quick update to let members and bloggers know that we modified the "time out". Therefore, the sytem will not require you to log in out for a longer period of time. Thx for your feedback.
I noticed that the discussions I looked at today and not rendering correctly in Internet Explorer. Basically, the Reply to This Comment link and other links normally at the bottom of each post are floating higher and on top of the comment text (see attached screen shot). Maybe it is just old IE but I thought you would want to see it.
I dont like the fact that the most current posts for a discussion topic are at the bottom. I think they should be in reverse chronological order. Many people do not have the time to scroll through all the prior posts and often times the issues take a different direction as the thread continues.
It also seems like there are way too many clicks to get to a thread.

I'm still not sure I like the colored background on pages like this: http://edr.hivelive.com/pages/02b8f60207

Terry - we have removed that box entirely to make it cleaner.

IMHO FWIW
