    Title:
U.S. House Passes Landmark Climate Bill
    Entry:

Climate Change services will be in high demand.

In a triumph for President Obama, the Democratic-controlled House has narrowly passed sweeping legislation calling for the nation's first-ever limits on pollution linked to global warming.

The vote was 219-212, capping months of negotiations and days of intense bargaining among Democrats. Republicans were overwhelmingly against the measure, saying it would cost jobs in the midst of a recession.

This will likely take much longer in the senate but climate change legislation will occur.  Many of the smaller firms and low cost providers simply will not have the brain power to offer these types of services.  This is good news to consultants, attorneys, real estate developers/owners, financial institutions, etc.  There are still many in the consulting arena that do not "buy in" to climate change legislation.  Whether we agree or disagree with regulation our profession requires us to advise and consult on compliance.  I doubt many accountants thumb their nose up at a new IRS rule because they do not buy in.  EBA topics starting Monday are nearly 50% climate change related.  Get on board or we will be watching you in the rear view mirror.  The choice is yours.
